In an act of solidarity and commitment, Habitat for Humanity Honduras organized a construction brigade in which more than 30 female volunteers joined together in the Villa Nueva Suyapa neighborhood of Tegucigalpa to build a decent home for \u00c1ngel, a child suffering from kidney failure who needs adequate housing to continue his dialysis treatment before his kidney transplant.<\/p>\n

The construction brigade included volunteers from Banpa\u00eds, UNITEC, and the \u00c9chame una Mano Foundation. This initiative is part of the “Women Build, Women Transforming Lives” program, through which female volunteers convened by Habitat work together to improve the housing conditions of families in vulnerable situations.<\/p>\n

The event took place in the context of International Women’s Day, commemorated on March 8th, highlighting the transformative power of women in society. During the event, the volunteers worked as a team to build walls, mix cement, and contribute to the construction of the home where \u00c1ngel and his family can live in a safer and healthier environment.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the construction of \u00c1ngel’s home is part of the agreement between Habitat for Humanity Honduras, Mar\u00eda Hospital, and the Foundation for Children with Kidney Failure (FUNHNIR), through which the homes of a total of 12 children with this disease will be improved or built, ensuring that they have an adequate environment for their treatment and recovery.<\/p>\n
