The families served by Habitat Honduras participate in a training process that includes the following modules:
Modulo I Conociendo Hábitat which contains institutional information, work methodology, credit granting conditions, actors in the construction process with defined responsibilities, and administrative aspects. The healthy housing and risk management approach is also developed.
Módulo II Educación Financiera which includes the phases of credit for housing, family income, expenses, preparation of the family budget, savings, investment. This module is aimed at generating and strengthening capacities in families to better manage their income.
Modulo Único which includes institutional information, aspects related to the responsibilities and obligations of the family, builder and works supervisor for minor additions to housing through subsidies. Likewise, capacities are strengthened in community learning about healthy housing, prioritizing the most vulnerable population such as the ethnic groups: misquitos, Chortis, Pech, Tolupanes etc.
Another component of the Project is aimed at promoting in the families of the small housing complexes, a high degree of participation in the well-being and community development. The strategy to be followed is to strengthen the organizational body of representation of the community and thus promote a transformative and sustainable community development.
