Tegucigalpa. This Saturday, Habitat for Humanity Honduras held a home dedication ceremony for the family of Ángel, a child with kidney failure who needs a safe and adequate environment to continue his peritoneal dialysis treatment before undergoing a kidney transplant.
The home is located in the Vida Nueva Suyapa neighborhood and was handed over in the presence of representatives from Habitat Honduras, Hospital María, and the Honduran Foundation for Children with Kidney Failure (FUNHIR), institutions that have closely supported this process.
Ángel is one of 12 children currently receiving support from Habitat Honduras to access adequate housing that allows them to continue their treatment in safe and suitable conditions. This project is carried out in partnership with FUNHIR, as all beneficiary patients receive medical care at Hospital María.
The house includes a living room, kitchen, full bathroom, and two bedrooms, providing a safe and functional space that fosters Ángel’s recovery and the well-being of his family.
Its construction was made possible through the donation of materials from companies such as Bijao Electric Company, Taller San Francisco de Asís, Impelna, Madequip, Mexichem, Lapco Honduras, construction company Eterna, and the Municipal Government of the Central District. Support also came from individuals who contributed financially, as well as Fundación Lady Lee and Unicomer, which provided appliances and beds for the home.
With this handover, Habitat Honduras reaffirms its commitment to transforming lives through housing solutions that bring hope, health, and dignity to the most vulnerable families.
